Tintoria

Sufficient blue denim jackets and trousers were obtained...but no blue shirts. With two oil drums from the Depot Salvage yard...the first dyeing plant was set up 15 May 1942. A detail of thirteen Italian prisoners and one Italian non-com. officer, under the direction of Lt. Walsh formed the enthusiastic personnel, who, for ten months conducted a surprisingly successful “Tintoria.”
