These resources include print materials available in the Stewart

The following databases
are excellent sources for articles covering a variety of business
periodicals. Thes include scholarly (academic) business journals,
trade publications, popular magazines, and newspapers.

Nearly 1800 worldwide business periodicals with in-depth coverage
of business and economic conditions, practice of business,
advertising, marketing, economics, human resources, finance,

with a trade or industry focus. Provides users with the latest
industry news, product and competitive information, marketing

- Business
Source Premier
Similar to the ABI/Inform databases, Business Source Premier covers
business, eceonomics, marketing, management, and more. There is
a wide range academic journals, popular magazines, and trade publications.
- Enhanced Business
Searching Interface
Provides enhanced
searching and browsing capabilities for Companies Profiles,
Country Reports, Industry Profiles, and Market Research. Searching
may be by keyword, author, company, publication, industry, and
subject.

to leading national and international newspapers including the
Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Financial Times, and Washington

Statistical
and demographic sources will provide a variety of information about
a specific population, including income distribution, age level,
ethnic groups, etc. The level of coverage (state, county,
city, etc.) will vary depending on the source you use.
- U.S.
Census
A good source for finding national and local statistics. This
includes population, housing, income, health insurance, education,
and much more.
Statistical survey conducted
every 5 years of business activity in the United States. Information
includes Reports by States, Reports by sectors, Zip code statistics,
Survey of Business Owners, and more. The next Economic Census
will be conducted at the end of 2007.
Conducts demographic
and socioeconomic studies from around the world. Much of the information
focuses on populations, and health for various countries.
- American
Fact Finder
Contains Census data about the population, industry and economic
conditions, community information, and the annual community survey.
Information is available down to the city and county level.
- Statistical
Abstract of the United States
Comprehensive summary of statistics covering population by
states, age, and sex, business and economic conditions, health
care, education, and much more. The data may be viewed in PDF
form as well as downloaded into Excel Spreadsheets. A printed
copy is available at the Reference desk at the Stewart Library
in Ogden.
- State
and Metropolitan Area Data Book
Local supplement to the Statistical Abstracts of the United
States. It serves as a statistical reference for social and
economic conditions in the states and metropolitan areas within
the United States. Each table within the publication contains
references to other publications and sources.
- County
and City Data Book
Contains city and county statistical information including
personal income, population, education, crime, and more.
Contains large amounts
of statistical information concerning labor. Information includes
the Consumer Price Index, Productivity information, Demographic
Characteristics of the Labor Force, the Occupational Outlook Handbook,
and much more.
- Demographics USA (County Edition) Reference

Contains state and county
statistical information covering areas such as population, income,
retails sales, employment, and much more.
- State Profiles: The Population and Economy of each U.S.
State
Provides state-by-state
view of the United States including population
by ages, sex, employment, and other economic activity.

literature" with over 2,000 entries arranged by 511 SIC codes.
Each entry includes the source of the data (worth taking a look
at if you need more information). Provides indexes by brand name,
company, product/services, place names, and source.
- Stat-USA
Includes international market research reports. Sections
of this database are password-protected. For password, ask
at reference desk.
