This guide is a selected list of resources that may be useful
in locating information about Retail Merchandising. These

Accessing Online
Databases
Online databases provide
references, abstracts, and often full text articles from journals,
newspapers, and other published literature. Do the following to
access the article databases:
- Start at the library website home page: http://library.weber.edu
- Go to the Quick Links part of the home page and click on the
Database Finder Link
- All business databases may be accessed by selecting Business
& Economics from the Search By Subject dropdown and clicking
on Search
- If you know the name of the database, select the first letter
of the database name from the Search by Title dropdown and click
on Search

Reports
- Market reports both US and international markets on a wide range
of industries
- Includes a section on internet and retailing
- Requires creating a user profile
Mergent Online
- Finding profiles of publicly traded companies, including company
history, property, debt, income and more
Business Source
Premier
- This is a database covering a variety of business topics including
economics, finance, accounting, and international business. Searching
may be done by title, text, author, company, and geographic locations,
in addition to the default fields, many articles are available
in full text.

description, officers, products and services, SWOT analysis, and

- Three separate databases that may be searched simultaneously
- News for local and regional companies, smaller or private
companies
- ABI/Inform Global
- News on larger global companies, with in depth periodicals

- Provides full text of US as well as international newspapers
including the Wall Street Journal

- Includes analyst research, ratings, ratios, financials, and

- Comprehensive source of information and advice
- Divided into three parts:
- Ratings and Reports - financial and stock price forecasts
for the next 3 to 5 years
- Summary and Index – up to date statistics about company performance
- Selection and Opinion – latest economic and stock market forecast

- Information about business resources about regional business

- Also allows searching for industry news

- Full text of industry surveys and stock and bond guides
If your database search returns
a result that is not in full text and you are interested in the
article, another database may contain it or it may be available
in print. To determine if Weber State University has a copy of the
journal you are looking for:
- Click on EJournals from the Library Home Page
- Enter the name of the journal
- If the journal exists in the library system, the name will appear
along with the dates that are available
If you find something that
is not available in the library, you may request the item through
Interlibrary Loan. Interlibrary Loan may be accessed by clicking
on the ILLIad System link from the library home page. Make your
requests in advance and allow a minimum of 7 days to fill the request.
