NEW & NOTABLE

NEW DATABASE:  FIS Online
Moody's/Mergent print manuals will soon be going away!  These include the Bank & Finance Manual, Public Utility Manual, Industrial Manual, OTC Industrial Manual, and the Transportation Manual.   Access to these materials is now provided through FIS Online.  This new database duplicates what we are currently getting in print, and then some.   We will still receive the print manuals (along with the online) until they are no longer printed.

Use this database to find financial profiles of publicly-traded companies in the U.S. and abroad; over 10,000 U.S. public companies and 17,000 non-U.S. public companies are included.  Coverage includes history, property, subsidiaries, officers, directors, long term debt, capital stock, news, income statement, balance sheet, statements of cash flow, ratio analysis, basic directory information, and more.   This database can be accessed off-campus - click on the database name and type in your Weber State ID card number (starts with 20101...).  Only four users may access the database at a time.  To search the database, click 'Sign In' from the left hand menu.

BOOK BUDGET
There is still quite a bit of money in the book budget for the College of Business.  If there are any materials that you would like the library to purchase for your students, classes, or personal research, please send the information to me ASAP, or fill out the materials request form online.  This money must be spent on or before April 15!  This money may be used to purchase books or audio visual materials, both for the main campus library or the Davis campus.

TRY OUR NEW, EASY OFF-CAMPUS ACCESS SYSTEM!   It is now even easier to access Lexis-Nexis, Standard & Poor's NetAdvantage, and Reuters Business Insight databases.  Just click on the database name, enter your barcode number, and start searching.  This system is very similar to the RPA system that has been in effect for several months.

BOOK SALE
The annual Friends of the Library book sale  will be held in Special Collections April 4 & 5, 2002, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.   Hardbacks are $1 and paperbacks are fifty cents.  Books that haven't sold by Friday afternoon will be free.

The National Undergraduate Literature Conference will be held April 4, 5 & 6, 2002.  More information can be found  on their Web site:   weber.edu/nulc
