  • Utah.gov--Data and Statistics - from the Utah Department of Health
    • Vital Records and Statistics - Includes data on births, deaths, abortions, marriages, divorces--Most recent reports are from 2005--Also Includes historical report on vital statistics in Utah from 1905-2005.
    • Utah's Indicator-Based Information System for Public Health (IBIS-PH) - Provides information on Utahns' health care status, public health activities, and the state of the health care system--The Publications link leads to different reports on a variety of topics--Use the Custom Query tab at the top of the page to create specific reports with data on incidence and location for various conditions--Possible queries include population estimates; birth, fetal death & infant death; mortality; hospital & emergency department; health surveys; cancer registry; and injury.
    • Health Care Statistics - from the Utah Data Health Committee--Check the Publications link for a variety of annual reports and other publications in the following areas: Hospital Inpatient; Outpatient Surgery; Emergency Room; Health Plans; and Prescription Drugs--Also includes evaluations of the Primary Care Network and Medicaid, and information on patient safety initiatives.

Nursing and Health-Care Databases

CINAHL (Cumulative Index to the Nursing and Allied Health Literature)

References and abstracts to the nursing and allied health literature including articles, books and dissertations from 1982 to the present time.  Some full text articles.

MEDLINE provides references and abstracts to the research journal literature in all areas of medicine, including nursing and dentistry.

Medical Databases (EbscoHost)  Ability to search CINAHL, MEDLINE  and other medical databases with one search.  

PubMed A freely available MEDLINE database (1966-present) with references, abstracts, and links to related articles.

Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition 
Over 500 scholarly full text journals covering the health and medical areas. Abstracts and references for over 500 additional journals.
