of the United States Since 1878, the Statistical
Abstract has been the single most authoritative source of facts
about the people, institutions and economy of the country. This
is a publication of the Census Bureau and is compiled from government
and private sources and is an excellent place to start when looking
for statistics. This is an annual and covers a broad range
of topics, mostly United States, but includes some international.

Data Base "The International Data Base
(IDB) is a computerized data bank containing statistical tables
of demographic, and socio-economic data for 227 countries
and areas of the world. The IDB combines data from country
sources (especially censuses and surveys) with IPC's (Census Bureau's
International Programs Center) estimates and projections to provide
information dating back as far as 1950 and as far ahead as 2050.
Because the IDB is maintained at IPC as a research tool in response
to sponsor requirements, the amount of information available for

is a survey conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau that provides
accurate and up-to-date profiles of America's communities every
year. The American Community Survey will provide estimates
of housing, social, and economic characteristics every year for

areas, and population groups of 65,000 persons or more. For smaller
areas, it will take two to five years to sample the same number
of households as sampled in the decennial census.
