Klamath Falls Native Americans

native tribes

Traditional rivals, the Klamath, Modoc, and Yahooskin tribes were forced in 1864 to live together on reservation lands, leading to the 1873 Modoc War with the United States Army. The arrival of the first rail lines around 1900 aided tribal members’ thriving industries in cattle ranching, freighting, and lumber.
