Thomas Dee, the first president of Utah Construction, was also vice-president of the First National Bank of Ogden and a municipal judge. Dee purchased the Ogden Waterworks for a silver dollar. While checking a water source in Ogden Canyon in July 1905, Dee tumbled into the river and died a few days later of pneumonia.
