Welcome to the Stewart Library, a vibrant hub dedicated to fostering academic excellence, intellectual curiosity, and community engagement. Our committed team of staff, faculty, and student employees is driven by a shared passion for advancing student learning, faculty teaching and research, and community well-being.
Over the past 2 years, we have redoubled our efforts to create a vibrant sense of community in library spaces through creative programming and events, the introduction of a new leisure reading collection, and more centralized assistance from a single service desk on the first floor.
We expanded our affordability initiatives, including sustaining a mature laptop lending program, expanding the textbook lending library, and supporting the adoption and creation of Open Educational Resources (course materials that are available to students at no cost).
Special Collections and University Archives have merged into one location, providing easier access to our unique historical materials from a new reading room on the first floor.
The library website will be completely revamped by Fall 2024 to enhance accessibility and usability, ensuring that our virtual presence is as welcoming and user-friendly as our physical spaces. For many of you, the website is the library, and we welcome feedback for further improvement.
In all of this work, we have developed deeper collaborative relationships with student groups and campus partners. The library remains committed to cultivating a sense of belonging within our spaces for learning and community building.
