Checking out material
Students, staff, and faculty can borrow materials with your WildCard, by visiting the service desk on the first floor.
If you're a student or faculty member from another Utah college or university, you're part of the Utah Academic Library Consortium (UALC). You can enjoy borrowing privileges by presenting your valid institutional ID or proof of current enrollment.
Community users who would like a library account must be at least 18 years old and provide a current government-issued ID card, along with their address, phone number, and email. Unfortunately, community guests are unable to check out equipment or Reserve textbooks. Accounts that have been inactive for a year will be removed.

Renewing material
Items from the general collection will renew automatically. However, items may not renew if they have reached the maximum number of renewals, are on hold for other patrons, or are non-renewable item types. The library will send a courtesy notice with updated due dates when items are renewed.
Returning material
The library sends courtesy due-date reminders by email and/or text. Patrons can ask for a printed due-date receipt when checking out items. Patrons should not return Reserve textbooks, Interlibrary Loan items, or equipment items in the outdoor book drops. Before attempting to return equipment or textbooks, please be mindful of the library's hours.
Fees and billing
To ensure a positive borrowing experience for everyone, we kindly ask that all library items be returned on time and in good condition. If materials are overdue and become lost, borrowers will be billed a replacement fee for the lost item. Please note that if accumulated fees reach $25 or more, checkout privileges may be restricted, which could also affect university records, including graduation eligibility, class registration, and access to transcripts. Rest assured, returning any lost materials will clear the fee, unless the bill has been sent to Loan Servicing – Collections.
If items remain unreturned for six months, accounts may be referred to Loan Servicing – Collections. For equipment, this timeframe is three months. If you have lost or damaged a book or media item, we may accept new or replacement copies with prior permission from the library. However, please note that equipment cannot be replaced or repaired and will be billed accordingly.
Overdue Interlibrary Loan books accrue late fees at $2.00 per item per day.
Outstanding bills may be paid through our Online Payment portal.

Holds
Patrons may place holds on items. Once a hold becomes available, patrons will receive a courtesy notice to pick up their item from the first-floor circulation desk within seven days.
