We envision an educational experience at Weber State University that includes access to high quality, engaging, and relevant course materials at no cost to students, especially in General Education and key required courses. Expanded access to affordable course materials means that every WSU student can pursue their ambitions and curiosities, without regard to the cost of those materials. Our vision supports WSU’s Strategic Plan goals in the areas of Access, Retention and Completion and Personal Connections and Academic Excellence.

These library services are available to all faculty. If you are not sure where to begin or would like assistance identifying potential course materials, contact your subject librarian. They can work with you to determine which of these options might best meet your needs.
Course Reserve
Placing materials on reserve provides WSU students an affordable alternative for accessing course materials. For more information, visit our Course Reserve page.
- Print materials can be made available for short-term checkout at both library locations. Fill out our Request Form to have print materials added to this collection.
- Digital content from library subscriptions and databases can be posted directly in Canvas using Library eReserve. Scanned excerpts of physical content can also be requested, following Fair Use guidelines.
Open Educational Resources
Open Educational Resources (OER) are learning materials with an open license that allows you to freely share and edit materials. For more information about OER support and grant opportunities, visit our Open Educational Resources page.
Syllabus Review
Library staff can help identify affordable alternatives such as OER and library eBooks that match your course learning objectives. This free service is also available for new courses that may not yet have a syllabus. Submit your syllabus with our Syllabus Review Form.
Copyright Assistance

Streaming Media Access
The library has access to streaming audio and video through our databases. If we do not have access to a title you need, contact your subject librarian to investigate acquiring a license.

The Wildcat Store is committed to finding the most affordable course materials by offering an array of options, including Day One Access, listing library ebooks or OER for adoption, a price comparison tool for students, textbook rentals, digital, loose-leaf books, and a large supply of used textbooks.
