Friends of the Library

Mission Statement 

The Friends of the Stewart Library are emissaries who connect the Library to diverse local communities. The Friends help build a stronger library through programming, outreach, fundraising, and other forms of support, particularly for efforts to preserve and promote regional history and culture.

Become a Friend

When you become a Friend of Stewart Library, you join a community that values public engagement with knowledge and learning. Your support helps:

  • Fund purchases or donations of unique collections.

  • Fund public programs and events that promote learning and the preservation of local and regional history and culture. 

  • Promote greater awareness and use of library collections, services, and programs.

  • Build a larger network of support for the important work of the Library in promoting education, research, and community engagement.

Benefits of being a Friend

  • Borrowing privileges, including InterLibrary Loan (Contributor Level and above).

  • Invitations to lectures, exhibits and events sponsored by the Friends, as well as invitations to special WSU and community events.

  • A semi-annual newsletter to stay current on Library news and events.

  • Income tax deductions for monetary donations.

  • Special recognition in the Stewart Library newsletter, other publicity, and at events (Benefactor Level and above).

Becoming a Stewart Library Friend

  • $5,000: Lifetime Friend

  • $1,000 - $4,999: Patron

  • $500 - $999: Benefactor

  • $50 - $249: Contributor

  • $25: Supporter

  • $10: Current WSU Student
