Stewart library is a partial Federal Depository Library. Government documents are available when the library is open. Community users are welcome to use government documents and library online resources. Community users wishing to use a computer must show a picture ID. Users under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult or make arrangements with the Library Staff. Community users must use a library computer to access online subscription resources. The WSU Guest wireless network is available for community users accessing freely available online resources, including many government documents.  

US Federal documents are arranged by publishing agency, using the Superintendent of Documents classification system. The Government Document collection contains materials published and distributed by US government agencies, including:

  • Congressional hearing and reports

  • books

  • serial publications

  • journals and magazines

  • maps

  • exhibition catalogs

  • laws and legislation

  • supreme court reports

  • patents

 

Many documents are not yet listed in the online catalog, but some are. Most items may be checked out for 21 days or according to circulation policies.
