Currently the Stewart Library does not charge users for 3D printing materials. This, as well as all other policies related to 3D Printing services offered by the Stewart Library are subject to change with or without notice.
The library will NOT print 3D objects that:
- Are prohibited by local, state, or federal law.
- Are prohibited by University or other Library policies.
- Are unsafe, harmful, hateful, dangerous, or which otherwise pose a threat to the well-being of others.
- Are obscene or otherwise inappropriate for an academic library environment.
- Are in violation of intellectual property rights.
- Appear to resemble weapons.
The library will print 3D objects:
- Submitted by WSU students, faculty, and staff at no charge.
- Up to 120 grams in material weight (Gram limits are waived for special projects).
- In the order in which they are received.
- In a single color PLA 3.0mm filament (Color requests aren’t possible).
The library will:
- Vet all 3D print requests against the above policy points.
- Print 3D print requests at a pace that is sustainable by library staff.
- Work with students, faculty, and staff on special projects involving 3D production printing.
- Destroy completed 3D printed projects that are not collected in 14 days of print completion notice.
