Course Materials Affordability Award 2023
Nominations are now open!
The Course Materials Affordability Award recognizes the efforts of instructors at Weber State University who utilize affordable course materials, such as Open Educational Resources (OER) or library resources, in their courses.
Three awards will be given this year
- One award recognizes a department, program, or faculty group for efforts to adopt, adapt, or create OER at a programmatic level. The department, program, or recipients as a group will receive a $1,500 cash award (minus relevant taxes).
- Two awards recognize individual faculty members for their efforts to integrate affordable course material including the use or creation of OER or use of non-OER materials such as library resources. Recipients will receive a $750 cash award (minus relevant taxes).
Members of the WSU community (students, faculty, staff and administrators) may nominate a faculty member or faculty group for the Course Materials Affordability Award. Nominees must have integrated affordable course materials into their courses sometime during the last three years (Spring 2019-Spring 2022). Nominees cannot have received the award in the past (individuals who were recognized in a group or department award remain eligible). Nominators should complete and submit the online form below, describing the efforts of the faculty member in making course materials affordable. Self nominations are welcome. Final selection of recipients will be made by WSU’s Affordable Course Materials Task Force.
Nominations will open on November 1, 2022 and close on January 20, 2023. Award recipients will be notified and then recognized at the annual Faculty Symposium & Celebration held during the spring semester.
