This guide for the history of Weber State University highlights the presidents’ collections and history of the university from 1889-1933. The early college history collection contains roll books, meeting minutes, programs and ephemera from events, and other materials related to the history of the school from 1889-1933. The presidential collections contain administrative records, photographs, scrapbooks, and other materials related to their time as president.

Weber Stake Academy opened its doors on January 7, 1889 as an educational institution for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The school started as a preparatory academy teaching elementary and high school level courses, as well as certifying teachers. The school added college courses in 1916, and by 1922 became a junior college. In 1933 the school was transferred to the state of Utah. Since its inception Weber has had 22 principals and presidents lead the school.

While we have identified these collections as particularly useful for researching this topic, photographs are represented in many of our collections. To search all of our collections, please use our Finding Aids website.
